AIC Tabs Tabb

CHN Staff Report

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — American International coach Gary Wright has named Patrick Tabb, a former player for the Yellow Jackets and a 2003 graduate of AIC, an assistant coach. Tabb, who will serve as the volunteer assistant, will work primarily with the forwards.

"We are most pleased that Patrick is joining our staff," said Wright. "He has a strong playing background in the sport, and furthermore he is always around hockey through his involvement at the Olympia. At AIC, he was a smart, hard-working and unselfish player. The fact that he was so coachable as a player makes him an even more attractive coaching candidate."

A resident of Wilbraham, Mass., Tabb appeared in 115 games in four years as a member of the Yellow Jackets from 1999-2003. He totaled three goals and 12 assists over his career. A Dean's List student while at AIC, Tabb was twice named to the MAAC All-Academic Team. Prior to playing at AIC, he played at Avon Old Farms Prep in Connecticut and locally with the Springfield Pics.

Tabb's family owns American International's home ice, the Olympia Ice Center in West Springfield, Mass.
