Skille Leaves Wisconsin

CHN Staff Report

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin forward Jack Skille has decided to leave school and sign a pro contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. He forgoes his final two years of collegiate eligibility.

Skille, 19, was fifth on the team in scoring this season with 18 points. He missed a large portion of the season with an injury.

Skille, a 6-foot-1, 206-pound native of Madison, may be best remembered for scoring the game-winning overtime goal in triple overtime against Cornell in the 2006 NCAA Midwest Regional. Wisconsin went on to win the national championship.

Skille was a first-round draft pick (7th overall) of the Blackhawks in 2005.

Skille will report to the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, on an Amateur Tryout Contract.
