Jones Leaves Dartmouth for Avalanche

DENVER The Colorado Avalanche signed Dartmouth forward David Jones to a two-year deal, forgoing his final year of eligibility. Jones was an eighth-round NHL Draft pick in 2003.
Jones was a Hobey Baker Award finalist for the Big Green this past season, the first Dartmouth player to receive the distinction. Jones was unanimous Ivy League Player of the Year while earning NCAA First Team All-America honors.
Jones, 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, had 44 points in 33 games, good for sixth among NCAA skaters for points per game (1.33).
"David is a solid prospect and we look forward to watching him continue to mature," said Avalanche Executive Vice President and General Manager Francois Giguere.
