MacDonald Suspended After DUI Charge

Massachusetts-Lowell coach Blaise MacDonald was suspended indefinitely by the school following his arraignment on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol in Lowell District Court this morning.
According to records obtained by the Lowell Sun, MacDonald was arrested by police Friday evening in Chelmsford, Mass., after being found sleeping in a running car in front of a condominium complex. The records showed that MacDonald registered a .23 and .25 on two different Breathalyzer tests. The legal limit in Massachusetts is .08.
MacDonald, 43, recently finished his seventh season as head coach of the River Hawks, where he has gone 85-109-28. Prior to that, he was head coach at Niagara, where he started the program and spent five years, going 91-58-17.
