Schneider Finally Signs with Vancouver

CHN Staff Report

BOSTON — After months of speculation and indecision, Boston College goaltender Cory Schneider has finally decided to indeed sign an NHL deal with the Vancouver Canucks.

Schneider, who helped lead BC to the NCAA championship game each of the past two seasons, was a 2004 first-round NHL Draft pick (26th overall) of the Canucks.

Schneider played in 99 games during his three-year collegiate career, going 66-26-7 record with a 2.09 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

A member of two U.S. World Junior teams, Schneider holds the Boston College record for career shutouts (15), and single-season school marks for shutouts (eight, 2005-06) and saves (1111, 2006-07).

He earned Hockey East All-Academic team honors in each of his three years at BC.
