Quinnipiac Dismisses Vetri

CHN Staff Report

Quinnipiac junior goaltender Peter Vetri has been dismissed by the University for academic reasons.

"The only comment I'll make on that is that he was dismissed because he didn't handle his academic responsibilities," Bobcats coach Rand Pecknold told WQAQ Sports.

Vetri appeared in 60 games for Mass.-Lowell as a freshman and sophomore, transferred to Quinnipiac during his junior year, and split time this season with junior Bud Fisher. In nine games this season, Vetri posted a 5-2-1 record with a 2.09 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

Freshman Pat McGann has started each of the last two games for the Bobcats, who are on an eight-game unbeaten streak overall.
