Freshman Wing Leaves Irish

CHN Staff Report

SOUTH BEND, N.D. — Notre Dame freshman left wing Robin Bergman has left the Irish hockey team and will return to the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Rough Riders of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

The 6-0, 195-pound Bergman, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, was in 20 games for Notre Dame this season, scoring one goal and seven points. He was plus-3 on the year and had one penalty for two minutes.

"We appreciate his work ethic and contributions to the team during the first half of the season and we wish him well in the future," Notre Dame coach Jeff Jackson said about Bergman.

Bergman had 26 goals and 43 points for Cedar Rapids last season.
