ECAC Suspends Cornell Freshman
CHN Staff Report
ALBANY, N.Y. — The ECAC announced today that it has suspended Cornell freshman forward Joe Devin one game for an on-ice incident during the Big Red's game against St. Lawrence on February 9.
At the 1:21 mark of the second period, Devin was assessed a five minute major penalty and game disqualification for contact to the head. St. Lawrence senior defenseman and co-captain Jared Ross was injured on the play.
The game disqualification prohibits Devin from playing in Cornell's home game against Union on February 15. The additional one-game suspension means Devin is ineligible to compete in the Big Red's game against Rensselaer on February 16.
Devin has appeared in 13 games for Cornell this season, scoring three goals and no assists.
