Burkholder Gets Extension

CHN Staff Report

NIAGARA, N.Y. — Niagara coach Dave Burkholder has received a contract extension, taking him through the 2011-12 season.

"With the success that he's had here, who wouldn't want to look at him?" Niagara AD Ed McLaughlin told the Grand Island Record. "I didn't want him to get to a point where he was interested in anything else."

Burkholder led Niagara to the NCAA tournament in March, after winning the CHA title. He's a two-time CHA Coach of the Year.

Burkholder's daughter, Taryn, will play lacrosse at Niagara, where she will enroll as a freshman in the fall.
