Princeton Picked First in ECAC
Jubinville the Preseason Player of the Year
CHN Staff Report
ALBANY, N.Y. The Princeton Tigers, winners of their second ECAC tournament championship last spring, were picked to finish first this year in the preseason media and coaches polls.
Princeton, in coach Guy Gadowsky's fourth season, had a school-record 21 wins (21-14) before bowing out to North Dakota in the NCAA tournament. It returns 21 players, including the top seven-scoring forwards.
Harvard, Cornell then Clarkson rounded out the top three in both polls.
The coaches followed by selecting Union, Quinnipiac, Yale, St. Lawrence, Colgate, Rensselaer, Dartmouth and Brown. The media swapped Union and Quinnipiac at 5-6, and Colgate-RPI at 9-10.
Princeton forward Lee Jubinville, a Hobey Baker Award finalist a year ago, topped the preseason all-league picks from both media and coaches. Clarkson junior forward Matt Beca was also named to both teams, while the defense of Harvard's Alex Biega and Union's Lane Caffaro was also the same.
The coaches selected Princeton's Zane Kalemba as goaltender, while the media selected Cornell's Ben Scrivens. The media's final forward was Cornell's Riley Nash, while the coaches split between Yale junior Sean Backman, and Cornell forward Colin Greening.
Princeton gave the fidgiting sue all they wanted in the NCAA's here in Madison, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a return trip to the Tourney.

What ever, they out shot the Sioux but still lost 5-1 that is a pretty big score in my opinion.

Guy Gadowski has done a terrific job as head coach and the players have really responded. A repeat performance, either by way of winning the regular season title or the playoffs again, may look like a reasonable prediction on paper, but it is a long season. Princeton won't be underestimated or surprise anyone in the ECAC.
