WCHA Suspends MSU's Bruess One Game

CHN Staff Report

MADISON, Wis. — Minnesota State will be without one of its top two-way players for Friday's Game 1 first-round WCHA series against Wisconsin.

The WCHA has suspended junior forward Trevor Bruess for one game as a result of his actions in last Saturday’s conference game against St. Cloud State.

Bruess has 12 goals and 17 points this season, and he leads the team with a plus-11 rating. He also leads the team, by far, in penalty minutes with 115.

Bruess had nine total penalty minutes in last weekend's tie with St. Cloud State, including two kneeing penalties in the first period. The first one was a five-minute major, while the second was a minor. Later in the game, he got into a scrap with the Huskies' Garrett Roe and was given a minor for roughing.
