Lamoureux is AHA Player of the Year
CHN Staff Report
Jacques Lamoureux, the nation's leading goal scorer and a Hobey Baker Award finalist, was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year.
Lamoureux has 31 goals this season. Air Force won the Atlantic Hockey championship and will play in its third straight NCAA tournament starting Friday.
Canisius' David Kostuch was named Rookie of the Year, while coach of the Year was Bentley's Ryan Soderquist. Bentley finished above .500 this season for the first time in the program's Division I history.
“This award is a great honor and means a lot to me,” Kostuch said. “Everything I did this summer and during the year – working hard in practice, in games and in the weight room – was not only to get better but also to try and win this award. Coming into the season, this was one of my goals and I am just very thrilled to get this award.”
