McBain Signs With Carolina

Wisconsin junior defenseman Jamie McBain will leave school to sign with the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, according to various reports.
McBain, who was drafted by Carolina in the second round in 2006, will be assigned to Albany of the AHL.
McBain was recently named WCHA Player of the Year, and one of 10 finalists for this year's Hobey Baker Award. He led the Badgers in scoring wtih 37 points, on seven goals and 30 assists.
The Faribault, Minn., native was on the Preseason All-CHN Team the last two years. This move was expected by Wisconsin coach Mike Eaves.
