Denver Loses Bozak to NHL
CHN Staff Report
The Toronto Maple Leafs have agreed to terms with Denver's highly-touted free agent forward Tyler Bozak.
Bozak went undrafted, then burst onto the college hockey scene last season, scoring 18 goals, including five shorthanded, in 41 games. That made him a hot commodity among NHL teams, though the Regina, Sask., native decided to return to Denver for his sophomore season.
Bozak, who also earned a reputation for strong two-way play, had seven goals in his first 18 games this season, before a serious knee injury derailed his year. He finally returned for the NCAA tournament, and had a goal and an assist in Denver's 4-2 loss to Miami in the first round.
Bozak is subject to entry level contract limits.
