North Dakota Dismisses Frattin

CHN Staff Report

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — North Dakota head men’s hockey coach Dave Hakstol announced that junior forward Matt Frattin has been dismissed due to a violation of team rules. Frattin was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009.

“This decision was made with the best interests of our program in mind, specifically the responsibilities to the program and what is expected of the members of our team,” said Hakstol. “But we also care about Matt Frattin and would like to put him in position to be able to live a healthy lifestyle and resume his hockey career.”

Hakstol said Frattin’s status with the team may be revisited prior to next season.

Another sioux player arrested? No, can't be true. Funny! It seems that all there is to do in Grand Forks is to get into trouble with the law. I would be proud of your hockey team. I give credit to Hakstol for dismissing him.
