Leddy To Miss 6 Weeks with Broken Jaw

CHN Staff Report

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota freshman defenseman Nick Leddy is expected to miss the next six weeks after breaking his jaw in Friday's 5-1 win over Alaska-Anchorage at Mariucci Arena.

Leddy was injured when he was hit while taking a shot in the first period of Friday's win over Alaska Anchorage.

The 5-foot-11 Leddy, a native of Eden Prairie, Minn., has been without a point the first five games of the season, as the Gophers have gone 1-5-1.

Leddy was the highest selected college or college-bound player in last June's NHL Draft, No. 16 overall by the Minnesota Wild.
