Serratore Signs 5-Year Extension at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Air Force and head coach Frank Serratore have agreed on a new five-year contract that runs through the 2013-14 season. Details of the contract are still being worked out and are going through the Academy process.
"Frank has committed to building a successful program on and off the ice,” said associate athletic director Dermot Coll. “The success the team has had the last few years is a direct reflection of the hard work and effort he and his staff have put into this program. The Academy is proud of the team and coaches and all that they have accomplished on the ice, in the classroom and in the community."
Serratore is currently in his 13th season at Air Force with a 200-216-32 record. He is the winningest coach in Air Force hockey history, leading Air Force to a school record 28 wins last season.
Serratore has led the Falcons to three straight Atlantic Hockey Association championships and NCAA berths. In 2008-09, he led Air Force to its first ever NCAA win with a 2-0 victory over Michigan and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight.
Air Force, 4-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the AHA, is currently in first place in the league with nine points. The Falcons travel to Worcester, Mass., for a two-game series with Holy Cross, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 13-14.
