Motzko Given Reprimand by WCHA
CHN Staff Report
The WCHA has issue a public reprimand to St. Cloud State coach Bob Motzko for violating the league's "Code of Conduct/Sportsmanship Rules."
After the game, Motzko went on the ice to dispute a goal call. The goal in question came with 90 seconds remaining in his team's 5-4 loss to Colorado College last Saturday. That loss knocked the Huskies out of first place, for now.
St. Cloud State thought it had scored the tying goal, but referee Brett Klozowski said he blew the whistle after losing sight of the puck under CC goalie Joe Howe's arm. The puck did eventually go in, clearly, but after reviewing the play on video, the call stood as no goal.
Motzko had to be restrained by other officials after going on the ice to argue with Klozowski.
“We scored a goal,” Motzko told reporters. “Everybody in the rink knows we scored a goal."
