Among the items discussed are his group's attempts — and limits — to get information to potential student-athletes in Canada, and to offset the information machine of the major junior leagues. Among the missions of College Hockey Inc. is to make sure information on the benefits of college hockey reaches players before they have to commit to major junior and lose college eligibility, and to offset whatever misinformation might be out there.
Kelly also touched on potential expansion of college hockey, and said he is optimistic that up to five teams could be added within five years. Part of his group's mission is to provide a road map for institutions to get there, and to help schools weave the various interconnected parts together that would make that happen.
