Pirri Also Leaving RPI
CHN Staff Report
Seth Appert's rebuilding plan at Rensselaer got a big boost when he brought in two blue chip freshmen last year, Jerry D'Amigo and Brandon Pirri.
Now it appears both are gone, after just one year — leaving just as teams are getting ready for camp.
"Brandon's has had communication with Chicago," RPI coach Seth Appert told Ken Schott of the Schnectady Gazette, "but nothing is confirmed or signed. It's not a done deal. But, yeah, he has been in communication with the Blackhawks."
Pirri was a second-round pick of Chicago in the 2009 NHL Draft. He had 11 goals and 32 assists in 39 games, and led ECAC rookies in scoring.
