Kinkaid Leaving Union

Union sophomore goaltender Keith Kinkaid, who helped lead the Dutchmen to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in March, will forgo his final two years of eligibility to sign with the New Jersey Devils, according to reports.

Kinkaid was named a First Team All-American, and was a Second Team All-CHN selection, as Union finished first in the ECAC regular season, going 17-3-2 in the league.

In 38 games this season, the Farmingville, N.Y., native was 25-10-3 with a 1.99 goals against average and .920 save percentage. The season ended with a 2-0 loss to the eventual national champions Minnesota-Duluth at the East Regional.

The 21-year old was also named winner of the ECAC's Ken Dryden Award as top goaltender.

The announcement is expected to be made official early next week.
