Boston College's Wey Out 6-to-8 Weeks
CHN Staff Report
Boston College has lost junior defenseman Patrick Wey for 6-to-8 weeks after he suffered a serious injury during Saturday's game against Northeastern.
Wey severed a tendon in his foot when it was hit by a skate blade.
“He’s been a really good player for us,’’ BC coach Jerry York told the Boston Globe. “He’ll probably be gone six, seven or eight weeks. Hopefully he’ll get the tendon sewn back [during surgery last night]. That is a tough loss for us.’’
Wey played 37 games for the Eagles last year, when he had one goal and eight points. This season, he'd played in the first six games, recording one assist.
Wey is a 6-foot-3 stay-at-home defenseman, and a Pittsburgh native.
