This is the ninth year of the 16-team NCAA Tournament. College Hockey News has an informational page on how the field is selected and seeded. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/info/?d=pwcrpi
This will be the 65th annual NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship, and the first time it will be held in Florida.
Michigan, which lost last season's championship game to Minnesota-Duluth in overtime, has the most NCAA titles with nine.
Detroit in 2010 is the only venue — football stadium Ford Field — that has not sold out in the past 13 years, but that year obviously set the all-time attendance record of 107,500.
The NCAA Regionals will be held March 23-25, in Bridgeport, Conn. (East), Worcester, Mass. (Northeast), Green Bay, Wis. (Midwest), and St. Paul, Minn. (West).
