York Needs Second Eye Surgery
CHN Staff Report
BOSTON Boston College coach Jerry York suffered a second detached retina of his right eye today, and will miss the duration of the Hockey East quarterfinal-round series against Vermont. He is scheduled for surgery Monday morning in Boston.
Associate head coaches Mike Cavanaugh and Greg Brown will lead the team in York's absence.
York previously underwent outpatient eye surgery on his right eye to repair a detached retina in early January. He missed four games.
Earlier in the season, York became the all-time coaching wins leader in college hockey history.
Boston College won Game 1 of its best-of-three series with Vermont. Game 2 is tonight.
