Wisconsin's Kerdiles, Little to Miss Weekend. Maybe More
CHN Staff Report
Wisconsin will be without forwards Nic Kerdiles and Sean Little for this weekend's Big Ten series against Michigan, coach Mike Eaves said today.
Kerdiles returned from the World Junior Championships to play Saturday against Alaska-Anchorage and hurt his shoulder. Little also has an injured shoulder. Eaves said both were week to week, but that Little was slightly ahead of Kerdiles to return. What that means exactly is still unclear.
“You need different ingredients to make the stew taste good and they’re both important ingredients and they’re totally different ingredients," Eaves told the Wisconsin State Journal. "We miss them both ... (Little has) intelligence about his game and he’s a mainstay on the penalty kill and Nic obviously brings different things to the table. You need them both."
Sophomore defenseman Eddie Wittchow missed practice with an illness, but is expected to return in time for the weekend.
Kerdiles, a sophomore, has eight goals and 17 points in 15 games. Little, a senior, has one goal and four points in 16 games.
