Sean MacTavish, the son of Edmonton Oilers general manager Craig MacTavish, committed to Boston Univeristy on Thursday.
MacTavish is a '94-born winger who finished his season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with 72 points (28 goals, 44 assists) in 60 games this season for Sherwood Park.
He's scheduled to arrive on BU in the fall of 2015.
He becomes the third son of an NHL GM to commit to a Hockey East school in recent weeks. Graham McPhee (son of Washington GM George) and Chris Shero (son of Pittsburgh GM Ray) are both committed to Boston College.
