3 NCAA Players Named to Sweden World Junior Prelim Roster

Three current NCAA players have been named to Sweden's preliminary roster for the 2016 World Junior Championships, which starts this Dec. 26 in Finland.
William Lagesson of Massachusetts, Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson of Boston University, and Fredrik Olofsson of Nebraska-Omaha are the trio getting the opportunity to make the final roster.
Lagesson, 19, has two goals and six points in 17 games as a freshman this season for the Minutemen. The defenseman played for Dubuque in the USHL last year. He is a 2014 draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers.
Forsbacka Karlsson is a 2015 second-round pick of the Boston Bruins. The freshman forward, 19, has 4-10—14 in 16 games this season, and a plus-1 rating.
Olofsson, a forward, and another 19-year old freshman, has 6-6—12 in 16 games this season for the Mavericks. He was drafted by Chicago in the fourth round in 2014.
There are seven defense spots available and eight players named to the preliminary roster. For the forwards, there are 13 slots available, and 15 on the preliminary roster.
