Three current NCAA players and 26 college hockey recruits will be at the 2017 NHL Scouting Combine this week in Buffalo, N.Y.

As was the case last year, Boston University will likely carry the NCAA banner at the 2017 NHL Draft slated for June 23-24 at the United Center in Chicago. Sophomore-to-be goaltender Jake Oettinger and four recruits will all be in attendance at the combine which concludes Saturday.

Michigan defenseman Luke Martin and St. Cloud State forward Ryan Poehling are the other current NCAA players who will be at the combine.

Boston College recruit Eeli Tolvanen, a Finnish center who skated for the Sioux City Musketeers in the USHL, is projected to be the first player selected with NCAA ties.

In total, 19 college hockey programs will be represented at the NHL Scouting Combine. Players go through interviews with interested NHL organizations and a rigorous testing regimen on Saturday.
