2009-10-26 ... Corey Tropp was named CCHA Player of the Week. The junior is an alternate captain for Michigan State.

2009-10-26 ... Atlantic Hockey's weekly award winners: Player of the Week: Nick Johnson, Sacred Heart; Goalie of the Week: Andrew Volkening, Air Force; and Rookie of the Week: Adam Pleskach, American International.

2009-10-26 ... After a two goal weekend, Western Michigan freshman left-winger Trevor Elias has been named CCHA Rookie of the Week.

2009-10-26 ... Senior Andreas Vlassopolous, who has battled years of injuries, will undergo season-ending surgery on his right knee soon, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. Vlassopolous has missed the past four games with pain in his right knee. He's had recurring issues with the knee since his freshman year.

2009-10-17 ... Merrimack freshman Stephane Da Costa has been cleared by the NCAA and made his collegiate against Holy Cross on Friday. Da Costa, a native of Paris, missed last weekend’s opening series with North Dakota while circumstances surrounding his eligibility were sorted out by the NCAA. The forward finished fifth in the USHL with 67 points last season (in just 48 games) including 31 goals. His points-per-game average were third best in the league (Da Costa missed a portion of December’s games while playing for Team France at the IIHF World Junior Championships).

2009-10-13 ... Michigan State forward Derek Grant has earned CCHA Rookie of the Week honors. Grant had a goal and an assist in each game in a sweep this past weekend of Clarkson. Grant netted three of his four points on the power play, contributing to MSU’s 5-of-16 effort (.312). Grant skates on the Spartans’ top line with senior Nick Sucharski and junior Corey Tropp, and the trio accounted for nine points in the series sweep of the Golden Knights.

2009-10-12 ... Quinnipiac senior Eric Lampe was named ECAC Player of the Week, while goalie Dan Clarke was named ECAC Goalie of the Week. The two helped Quinnipiac sweep Ohio State in the team's opening weekend.

2009-10-12 ... After leading Canisius to a 1-0 victory over Ferris State, sophomore Dan Morrison was honored by Atlantic Hockey as Player of the Week and Goaltender of the Week. Morrison stopped a Division I-program-best 48 shots. The sophomore goaltender was especially strong on the power play, where he made 18 saves.

2009-10-02 ... Wisconsin added former Colorado College goalie Jeff Sanger as a volunteer assistant coach. A Madison, Wis., native, Sanger is a former standout goaltender at CC. He is its all-time leader with 76 victories and 16 shutouts. Sanger’s career goals-against average of 2.48 stood as an all-time best for CC until two-time All-American Curtis McElhinney graduated with a 2.32 goals-against average (2001-05). Following his college career, Sanger played parts of three years of professional hockey at the AHL, ECHL, CHL and UHL level.
