2009-03-03 ... Vermont freshman Rob Madore was named Hockey East Rookie of the Month. Madore went 4-2-1 with a 1.70 goals against average and a .934 save percentage in February. He allowed just four even strength goals in seven starts in the month.
2009-03-03 ... Kael Mouillierat, a junior forward at Minnesota State, has been named WCHA Offensive of the Week for his outstanding play in MSU's two-game series with Wisconsin. A 5-foot-10, 185-pound junior from Edmonton, Alberta, Mouillierat had four points in two games as Minnesota State took three points from 16th-ranked Wisconsin in a pair of league home contests over the weekend.
2009-03-03 ... North Dakota freshman forward Brett Hextall has been named the WCHA Rookie of the Week for his performance against Colorado College. Hextall accounted for three goals and four points as UND took three of four points from then-No. 13 CC, enabling the Fighting Sioux to move into sole possession of first place in the WCHA.
2009-03-03 ... Alaska-Anchorage goaltender Bryce Christianson, who posted back-to-back shutouts as the Seawolves won both ends of a home-and-home series against in-state rival Alaska-Fairbanks last weekend, was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week.
