Denver 5, Colorado College 3 - Friday, March 15, 2013
Eleven different players had points for Denver, as it held off intra-state rival CC in a wide open game. The win clinches a 12th consecutive 20-win season for the Pioneers, the longest streak of any program. Denver has also only been defeated once over its last 11 games on the Magness Arena ice.

Minnesota State 7, Colorado College 2 - Saturday, March 2, 2013
Matt Leitner had a hat trick as Minnesota State got an important bounceback win off Friday's loss.

St. Cloud State 5, Colorado College 2 - Saturday, February 23, 2013
St. Cloud State rebounds from a Friday loss to get the split and stay two points up on Minnesota for first place in the WCHA. Five different players scored, to balance two goals from CC's Rylan Schwartz. Jonny Brodzinski picked up his 17th for the Huskies and Ben Hanowski scored his 13th. “I couldn’t play much worse than I did (Friday),” Hanowski told the St. Cloud Times. “So (Saturday) was just kind of responding, getting a little ornery and getting a little upset with yourself." St. Cloud State has never won the MacNaughton Cup, for winning the WCHA regular season, and in its final season in the league before going to the NCHC next year, it has never been this close. “That was one of Hanow’s best games of the season,” Huskies coach Bob Motzko told the St. Cloud Times. “From the opening puck (drop), Ben Hanowski set the tone for us tonight. He responded like a leader.”

Colorado College 6, Denver 5 - Saturday, February 9, 2013
It hasn't been the greatest of seasons for Colorado College, but this is why rivalries are great -- they bring out the best in everyone. After the tie in Denver on Friday, a 1-1 affair, this was more wide open as the scene switched to Colorado Springs. CC freshman Hunter Fejes scored two goals, including the game winner with 10.5 seconds remaining in overtime, giving the Tigers three points for the weekend, and playing a bit of spoiler to the Pioneers, who had been playing well coming into the weekend.

Colorado College 5, Minnesota-Duluth 1 - Saturday, January 19, 2013
After a terrible seven-game unbeaten string, CC has at least started moving back in the right direction, getting splits the last two weekends. William Rapuzzi scored his 13th in Saturday's rout. Joe Howe played well in both games on the weekend in net for the Tigers, even in Friday's 3-2 loss.

Nebraska-Omaha 3, Colorado College 1 - Saturday, January 5, 2013

Nebraska-Omaha bounced back from last week's pair of losses at Quinnipiac, and took over first place in the WCHA, scoring two third-period goals to beat CC. The Mavericks swept the Tigers after beating them 8-4 on Friday night. UNO is now one point ahead of St. Cloud State, which was playing a non-conference series this weekend. The Tigers are winless in seven (0-6-1).
“To be on top of the league like this, it's a special feeling,” UNO goalie John Faulkner told the Omaha World-Herald. “You never take anything for granted. We go to work every day and give it 100 percent, and as a team we're very confident in one another. We know what kind of hockey we're capable of playing.” ... Coach Dean Blais told the Herald: “It was more of a character win than anything. We're not going to out-talent anyone right now. We've got to, hopefully, outwork them and get a few breaks here and there.”

Minnesota 4, Colorado College 4 - Saturday, December 8, 2012
Sam Warning, recently back in the lineup, scored twice in Friday's 4-2 win for Minnesota. It looked like the Gophers were cruising to a sweep Saturday, but the problem is, they played that way. Some defensive breakdowns, including by some forwards who weren't particularly sharp either, led to CC scoring three goals in the third period, the last one in the closing minute, to get the tie. At 11-3-3, Minnesota is doing fine, but still has its moments where you wonder a bit.

Denver 6, Colorado College 2 - Saturday, November 17, 2012
Chris Knowlton scored two more goals Saturday, and now has eight on the season, as Denver got a two-game home-and-home sweep with the rival Tigers. It was the first weekend sweep of CC since December 2005. Denver has won five in a row, and Knowlton, a Colorado Springs native who peaked at 12 goals as a junior, but is already closing in on that. "I'm just really finding my spot right now," Knowlton said. "It's one of those things, when you're hot, you're hot and you want to just keep shooting pucks."
Friday, Denver staved off a furious third-period rally by CC to hold onto a 6-5 win. As the game ended, Denver goalie Juho Olkinuora got into a fight with CC star Rylan Schwartz, and both players were DQ'd for Saturday's game, which hurt CC more, since Olkinoura wasn't scheduled to play anyway. ... Joe Howe started in net for CC on Saturday, after coming on in relief of Josh Thorimbert on Friday, but didn't fare any better.
“We were really able to establish how the game was going to go by the way we played in the first period,” Denver head coach George Gwozdecky said. “We played well, we dominated puck possession, and we scored three good goals. We gave up a pretty easy goal on a miscommunication between our goalie and defensemen, but other than that it was the best opening period we played all year. And it set the tone for the way we wanted the game to be played.”

Colorado College 3, Wisconsin 0 - Saturday, November 3, 2012
Colorado College bounced back from a sweep at Cornell last weekend, to sweep two games at Wisconsin this weekend. Alexander Krushelnyski scored 25 seconds into overtime on Friday for the Tigers, and had another on Saturday as Joe Howe recorded the shutout win. Howe is trying to bounceback from his junior year, when he got hurt early and performed poorly otherwise. This was just his second start this season, but he has so far outplayed Josh Thorimbert, and could be getting his No. 1 job back.
The biggest problem for Wisconsin, though, was losing Hobey candidate Mark Zengerle, who took a shot to the hand and suffered a broken finger. He reportedly is expected to be out until mid-December.

Cornell 3, Colorado College 2 - Saturday, October 27, 2012
Cornell put together an ambitious non-league schedule this year, that was high-risk, high-reward. Ivy League teams only get seven non-league games out of 29 to play with. And with games against CC, Denver, Michigan and Ferris State, Cornell could either score big in the Pairwise, or shoot itself in the foot in terms of the NCAA Tournament picture. But so far, so good after a home weekend sweep of CC to open its season. After a classic 2-0 Cornell win Friday, the Big Red took a 3-1 lead before holding on for good. And while last season's special teams were an atypical sore spot for Cornell, on this weekend, it was 8-for-8 killing penalties, and scored all five of its goals with the man advantage (5-for-14). Joel Lowry scored twice Saturday, with Brian Ferlin getting one.

Colorado College 4, Denver 3 - Sunday, March 17, 2013
Probably the last team Denver wanted to play this weekend was CC, and that turned out to be for good reason. Denver squandered a 2-0 lead, as CC came roaring back, taking the lead on a shorthanded goal by Rylan Schwartz in the second period. After Denver tied it in the third, Charlie Taft responded with the game winner with about 10 minutes left in regulation. Joe Howe has had his ups and downs, but he was phenomenal on the weekend, out-dueling goaltenders who have gotten more accolades this season. Denver will likely make the NCAAs anyway, but it was a bitter pill to swallow for the Pioneers.
