What is this? / Instructions
Use this tool to select different scenarios for the weekend tournaments. From the results, you can see who would make the NCAA Tournament, based upon the NCAA's system of Pairwise Comparisons.
Click once for the winner of that game. The winner you chose will be in blue. If the game has already been played, it will already be blue.
For a semifinal pairing, if you click a second time, that will select your pick for tournament champion. It will be highlighted in green. Click a third time to erase that selection.
Once everything has been filled in, click "Calculate PWCs," which stands for "PairWise Comparisons." You will then see the results. From there, you will be able to tell who will make the NCAA tournament based on the results you have entered.
Note: This tool was originally developed by John Whelan for personal use well before it was ever used on a commercial site. College Hockey News is the ONLY place this tool is being used with permission of John Whelan.
