SLU's Zeiler Leaves School

CHN Staff Report

CANTON, N.Y. — A key component of St. Lawrence's ECAC and NCAA aspirations has left school, according to reports.

Senior John Zeiler, a 2002 fifth-round draft pick of the Phoenix Coyotes, will no longer play with the Saints. No reason has been given.

Zeiler, who had missed four games earlier this season with an injury, was second on the team in scoring with 13 goals and 28 points, including three game winners. In four season, he had 40 goals and 123 points.

St. Lawrence is currently tied for the fourth and final bye spot for the ECAC Tournament, and is just outside the NCAA bubble looking in, still with a chance to make the tournament for the first time since 2001.
