Saponari Will Go To BC

CHN Staff Report

BOSTON — According to a report on The Boston Hockey Blog, which covers Boston University, former Terrier forward Vinny Saponari will be headed to Boston College in 2011-12 after sitting out a transfer season this year.

Saponari was dismissed from the BU hockey team after last season by head coach Jack Parker. He’ll start with BC as a junior in 2011.

Saponari reportedly missed a bike ride, which was punishment for failing the team’s alcohol policy, which led to his dismissal from the team.

This season, he's appeared in one game for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL. His playing status for this season remains unclear.

“I love the city of Boston, and Boston College always has a good team,” Saponari told The Boston Hockey Blog of the decision.” I played against them for two years. I know how the program is –– the professionalism that comes with being there and playing there.”
