BC's Alber Out 3 Months After Tearing Knee

CHN Staff Report

Boston College announced today that defenseman Patch Alber will be out three months following surgery to repair a displaced lateral meniscus in his knee.

That timetable would leave him out until the Frozen Four, if Boston College makes it.

Alber injured his knee prior to the team's game Saturday against Alabama-Huntsville, playing soccer, which is a typical team warmup routine. The 5-foot-10 Alber had three assists in 14 games this season.

With Alber and Isaac MacLeod out, the Eagles started five freshmen defensemen at the Mariucci Classic. BC lost to Minnesota 8-1 in the final of that tournament.
