Impending Snow Prompts Weekend Postponements

CHN Staff Report

An impending blizzard predicted to hit New England this weekend has already prompted the postponement of all four of Friday's Hockey East games.

The game between Northeastern and Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass., has been postponed until Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the same time (7 p.m.).

Boston University has moved its game against Merrimack, originally scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m., to Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.

Boston College will host Mass.-Lowell now on Tuesday, Feb. 26 instead.

And, New Hampshire at Providence, has been postponed until Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.

Weather forecasters are predicting over a foot of snow for most of the Massachusetts and upper New England areas.

At Boston College's Conte Forum, it was supposed to be "Jerry York Night" to honor the coach for passing the all-time wins record. A planned night was already postponed once before, when York missed four games after eye surgery. The special night will now be held some time next season, according to the school.

Also, an Atlantic Hockey home-and-home series between Army and American International was postponed. Friday's game at Army was moved to Sunday, while Saturday's game at AIC will be moved to a date to be determined.

Numerous other Atlantic Hockey weekend games have been moved, as has UMass' game against Merrimack on Saturday — to Sunday. See the CHN Full Schedule for more information.
