Quinnipiac's Van Brabant Suspended
CHN Staff Report
The ECAC suspended Quinnipiac forward Bryce Van Brabant "in accordance with the League’s supplemental discipline process," as the result of his actions in Friday's game against Cornell.
The League action was taken after review of an incident that occurred in first period in the teams' quarterfinal playoff game. Cornell won Game 1. Van Brabant hit Cornell forward Eric Axell from behind in the head. The play did not result in a penalty at the time.
Based upon the League’s action, Van Brabant is not eligible to compete in Game 2, set for Saturday. Axell did not return to the game, and will also miss Game 2.
