UConn Job To Be Filled After Women's Position

CHN Staff Report

According to sources, Connecticut will fill its vacant women's head coaching position within the next few weeks before it will make a hire regarding its open men's head coaching position.

Men's interim head coach David Berard, who guided the Huskies to a 19-10-3 record after taking over for Bruce Marshall, is the only candidate sources have confirmed has interviewed for the men's job, though others are said to be involved as well.

Marshall resigned in January after taking a leave of abscence.

Heather Linstad resigned as the women's head coach in March.

Next season will be UConn's final year in the Atlantic Hockey Association before it debuts in Hockey East in 2014. The Huskies lost to Mercyhurst in the Atlantic Hockey semifinals last month.
