Montgomery Named USHL GM of the Year

CHN Staff Report

CHICAGO — New Denver coach Jim Montgomery was named the United States Hockey League's General Manager of the Year.

Montgomery, who was named Denver's new coach last month, recently led Dubuque to the league championship, the Clark Cup, for the second time in three years behind the bench. Dubuque also won the regular-season championship with 98 points. He did it after having to replace nine of his top 10 scorers from last season, including two NHL First-Round Draft picks, Zemgus Girgensons and Mike Matheson.

The league also named Sioux Falls coach Cary Eades its Coach of the Year. Eades was replaced as an assistant on the North Dakota staff prior to last season.
