CHN Staff Report

ALBANY, N.Y. — The ECAC announced an agreement today to again air its championship on Fox College Sports.

The ECAC is moving the site of its postseason championship weekend to Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y., starting this coming season.

"We are thrilled to once again partner with Fox College Sports as our men’s championship returns to Lake Placid," ECAC commissioner Steve Hagwell said. "The league is committed to showcasing its marquee event. This partnership gives us an opportunity to bring our league and member institutions to a wider audience.”

The ECAC just enjoyed its most successful on-ice season in decades, with two teams playing for a national championship, culminating with Yale winning its first title.

The 2014 ECAC Championship semifinals will be held Friday, March 21. The first semifinal contest is scheduled for 4 p.m., followed by second semifinal at 7:30 p.m. The following day, Saturday, March 22, the championship game will be played at 7:30 p.m.

“ECAC Hockey is one of the top hockey conferences in the country,” said Gary Ehrlich, Executive Vice President, FOX Sports Networks. “We’re excited to televise the semifinals and championship game live from Lake Placid, N.Y., showcasing some of the best hockey student-athletes to a national audience.”
