Niagara Tabbed to Repeat in Atlantic Hockey

HAVERHILL, Mass. — Last year's regular-season champs, Niagara, was picked to repeat by the coaches in their annual preseason Atlantic Hockey poll.

Mercyhurst, which actually garnered more first-place votes, came in second, followed by Air Force. Canisius, which won the Atlantic Hockey tournament and made the NCAAs for the first time in its history, was picked to finish fourth and received the remainder of first-place votes.

Niagara kicks off the Atlantic Hockey regular season on Saturday, October 5 as it hosts Clarkson at home. Holy Cross will host Simon Fraser in an exhibition contest on Saturday, while RIT will also play on Saturday as the Tigers host Queen’s in an exhibition match-up.
