Wisconsin Goalie Rumpel Out a Few Weeks

CHN Staff Report

Wisconsin junior goalie Joel Rumpel will miss a few weeks with an injury suffered in practice.

According to Bucky's 5th Quarter blog, Rumpel hurt his ankle earlier in the week, and did not travel with the team for its pair of games in Boston this weekend.

Rumpel was the No. 1 goaltender for the Badgers last season down the stretch, though fellow junior Landon Peterson had similarly strong numbers. Peterson and Rumpel each got a start last weekend.

Against Boston College on Friday, Peterson was pulled after allowing six goals. Third-stringer Adam Miller, a sophomore who appeared only briefly last season without seeing a shot, came on in relief, and made 24 saves on 27 shots.

Wisconsin plays at Boston University on Saturday.
