Hockey East Suspends Northeastern's Ferriero

CHN Staff Report

Hockey East has suspended Northeastern forward Cody Ferriero for two games for a slashing incident Saturday against St. Lawrence.

The senior forward has scored one goal and assisted on three more in four games this season. Ferriero missed two games, including Friday's against St. Lawrence, for undisclosed reasons.

The San Jose Sharks' draft pick was suspended previously by Northeastern coach Jim Madigan for the 2011-12 season opener for violating team rules.

Northeastern will miss Ferriero this weekend as it opens Hockey East play with a home-and-home pair with Boston College. Ferriero is eligible to return on Nov. 9 when the Huskies travel to Massachusetts-Lowell.
