UConn's Harris to Return Sooner Than Expected

CHN Staff Report

Connecticut senior captain Brant Harris is expected to return to the team this week, earlier than it was anticipated.

Harris injured his knee in preseason, and it was thought he might be out until December.

Connecticut (2-2-1) is in the middle of a five-game homestand. It then heads to play Boston University, a team it will face regularly beginning next season, when the Huskies jump to Hockey East.

"The fact that we’re moving to Hockey East and they’re a perennial Hockey East power, I understand the significance of that,” Huskies first-year coach Mike Cavanaugh told the Hartford Courant. “We’re trying to stay in the moment. We’re focusing on Holy Cross."

Before then, UConn plays Holy Cross and Bentley, and Harris is expected to return for one of those games, though it's unknown if he'll immediately return to the top line.
