Maine's Glienkie Joins USHL's Sioux City

CHN Staff Report

Maine freshman forward Zach Glienke has left the program and has joined the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League.

Glienke made his USHL debut Friday night; he was added to Sioux City's roster in November but initially remained at Maine.

The talented '94-born forward had yet to play in a game for the Black Bears this season.

Last season, Glienkie served as captain at Eagan High School in Minnesota, scoring 64 points in 28 games (32 goals, 32 assists) and was named a finalist for the Mr. Hockey Award.

Glienkie could still return to Maine after playing out the season in the USHL. He could also transfer, re-opening his recruitment. If he decides to transfer, Glienke would have to sit out this upcoming spring semester as well as next fall per NCAA rules; he would be eligible to play for another NCAA team next spring.
