Jack Eichel Signs LOI to Play at BU

CHN Staff Report

Jack Eichel, ranked as the No. 1 incoming recruit by College Hockey News for the 2014-15 season, signed his National Letter of Intent to play at Boston University. Eichel announced the news on his Twitter account.

Eichel just won a gold medal with Team USA at the World Under-18 Championships last weekend.

The Chelmsford, Mass. native is considered one of the top prospects for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, along with Connor McDavid, who is playing in the Ontario Hockey League.

Eichel is scheduled to arrive at BU this coming fall.

The Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League own Eichel's QMJHL rights. Saint John general manager Darrell Young said in a radio interview on Tuesday that he was open to trading Eichel's QMJHL rights.
