Powers Signs Extension at ASU

CHN Staff Report

Arizona State coach Greg Powers has signed a contract extension with the school that takes him through the 2021-22 season.

Powers is an alumnus of the school's club program, and coached the club team there through the transition to NCAA varsity status three seasons ago.

The Sun Devils won 3 games in their first season in D-I, then 10 games last season. They are currently 2-6-2 as they continue to play an independent schedule.

Arizona State has so far been unable to find a spot in a conference, having been turned down by the NCHC, and subsequently walking away from talks with the WCHA.

Meanwhile, the quest to build its own arena continues, something that has gained momentum recently.
